BOOK REVIEW: PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING FOR DUMMIES (2026) BY BRYAN ALVAREZ & GENE SELASSIE [Article]

Bryan Alvarez and Gene Selassie's new Professional Wrestling For Dummies is here, and When It Was Cool's Karl Stern had a hand in helping edit it! From forgotten nineteenth-century promoters like Harry Hill to the colorful world of Mexican lucha libre, this new book covers far more ground than you might expect. Karl takes readers behind the scenes of the editing process, including the hilariously meticulous corrections of former ECW and WCW star Lance Storm, and explains why even a longtime wrestling historian can still learn something new. Read our review and find out why this book deserves a spot in your wrestling library!
