Summerween Halloween and Horror Arts Festival July 13, 2024 in Warrior, Alabama
My wife Tonya and I headed to Warrior, Alabama, just off of I-65 between Cullman and Birmingham on July 13, 2024, for the Summerween Arts Festival. It was a brutally hot July day with temperatures at, or just above, 100 degrees. Despite the oppressive southern heat, the Summerween Arts Festival had a fantastic turnout, I mean the place was packed!
Not only were there a lot of people looking and shopping at Warrior Community Center, but we were very surprised at the large number of vendors on site selling tons of crafts, handmade goods, and horror and Halloween themed merchandise. When It Was Cool are currently planning to be vendors there in 2025 ourselves!
We were pleased to see that this Summerween Arts Festival was not overrun with your typical flea market type new products, but rather, lots of custom made and one-of-a-kind items. Tonya and I are already hard at work making our own fun and scary products for this festival next year.
We saw several vendors had crocheted horror themed dolls while several others offered Halloween themed snacks, display pieces, soaps, and a lot of paintings and artwork.
There was even a retro vibe to some of the vendor booths which, obviously, is right our alley at When It Was Cool! Thanks to Warrior, Alabama for hosting this very unique and fun event and I expect that since turnout was so good, we may see you there next year with our own offerings!
