Dr. X had to unmask, and was revealed as Bill Miller.

01-19-1961: Dick the Bruiser defeated Cowboy Bob Ellis to retain the U.S. title at Denver, CO City Auditorium. The show drew 8,000 for a record gate in the city of $20,000.

The article also makes note of him wrestling and it is known that Sheppard was a member of a prison wrestling team.
